چکیده

For low-voltage, low-power circuit design, the linear model for operational amplifiers is insufficient to accurately predict the static and dynamic behavior of the circuit. This paper introduces a nonlinear model for operational amplifiers based on amplifiers’ DC transfer characteristic. By using this nonlinear model, the behavior of an operational amplifier with feedback network can be described more accurately. Equivalent open-loop gains of the operational amplifier for several common closed-loop applications are studied. These equivalent gains can help identify the nonlinearities in the close-loop amplifier and determine the performance of the circuit. Index Terms – nonlinear amplifier, equivalent gain

High-Frequency Distortion Analysis of Analog Integrated Circuits

An approach is presented for the analysis of the nonlinear behavior of analog integrated circuits. The approach is based on a variant of the Volterra series approach for frequencydomain analysis of weakly nonlinear circuits with one input port, such as amplifiers, and with more than one input port, such as analog mixers and multipliers. By coupling numerical results with symbolic results, both ...

Analysis of nonlinear optical and dynamic gain effects of moderate-power, pulse-position-modulated, erbium-doped fiber amplifiers for deep-space applications.

Lasers for use in deep-space applications such as interplanetary optical communications employ multiwatt resonantly pumped dual-clad erbium-doped fiber amplifiers and the pulse-position modulation scheme. Nonlinear optical effects and dynamic gain effects often impair their performance and limit their operational range. These effects are analyzed theoretically and numerically with a time-depend...

Unified Approach to Synthesis of Mutators Employing Operational Transimpedance Amplifiers for Memristor Emulation

A procedure of the synthesis of mutators for transforming the resistor with non-linear currentvoltage characteristic into the memristor with equivalent-shape charge-flux constitutive relation is described. The final aim of the synthesis is the mutator implementation via operational transimpedance amplifiers. It will enable simple manufacture of analogue memristor emulators from off-the-shelf in...

A Loop-Breaking Method for the Analysis and Simulation of Feedback Amplifiers

Two-circuit models for feedback subcircuits are developed from a modification to the two-port method of feedback amplifier analysis and are applied in a method to break the feedback loop. These models are terminally equivalent to linear and nonlinear subcircuits, have physically-disconnected topologies, and employ dependent sources to control lateral signal transfer with a switch-like on or off...

CMOS Active-Cascode Gain Stage

An s-domain analysis of the full dynamics of the pole-zero pair (frequency doublet) associated with the broadly used CMOS active-cascode gain-enhancement technique is presented. Quantitative results show that three scenarios can arise for the settling behavior of a closed-loop active-cascode operational amplifier depending on the relative locations of the unity-gain frequencies of the auxiliary...
